Yoga & Hiking Retreat
18th – 24th April 2027
2nd – 8th May 2027
Each morning we start with a self serve light brekfast then into yoga with Tashi which she masterfully adapts to suit all levels.
We go out and explore on 3 of the 6 days for around 3 hrs. We hike the trails around Le Grand Banc, the famous limestone gorge at Oppedette, and the hip eccentric village of Banon (we can also sample the amazing ice cream and local cheeses). The walks take a few hours and the pace is easy going.
There is lots of free time to enjoy the pool, the gardens, have a massage or do nothing in particular. The food is excellent, the evenings are super relaxed and the location is exceptional.
Yoga & Creative Writing Retreat
25th April – May 1st 2027
This retreat pairs yoga with creative writing, a brilliant combination, guided by two experts in their fields.
Tashi Dawa teaches yoga morning and evening yoga at different levels so there’s something for everyone whatever level of experience.
The writing sessions are led by Susan Elderkin, a published novelist and writing teacher whose approach is practical and encouraging, whether you’re a beginner or have been writing for years. You don’t need to come with a project or a plan, just the time and willingness to write.
There’s also time to walk, journal, get a massage, or explore the area. Our local chef cooks with the produce and flavours of the region.

the region
Le Grand Banc is located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, a region known for its wild beauty, ancient hilltop villages and expansive views across the Luberon. This part of Provence has less tourists than the coast offering a quieter more regional experience of southern France.
The landscape here is rugged oak forests, limestone ridges, hidden gorges and open plateaux. It’s a place shaped by light, wind and time, with walking trails that have connected villages and shepherds for centuries. In spring the wildflowers are in bloom, the air is fresh and the hills are alive with colour.
Nearby, the village of Banon offers a taste of Provençal life with its weekly markets, local cheeses and famous rural bookshop. Oppedette Gorge and the surrounding national parks are within reach for walkers and nature-lovers, while the Le Grand Banc itself is a peaceful sanctuary remote enough to feel far from it all, yet accessible from Marseille and Avignon.
